Hello and welcome to my website!  I hope you enjoy your stay.

Breeding Labradors is my hobby, not a business.  I only breed one, occasionally two, litters a year, when I am looking for an addition to my breeding and showing program.  Much careful consideration goes into each breeding.  All breeding dogs have the proper health clearances for Labradors, which are listed on my website.  Additionally, we have color doppler heart echo tests performed on our breeding dogs.

Our dogs are bred for health, temperament and proper conformation to the AKC Labrador Standard.

Here is a bit about me:

I have always been interested in dogs.  When my daughters were young, I was given a 10 week old chocolate boy puppy from a person that wasn't able to keep him.  I asked why she didn't return him to the breeder, but she felt he would have a good home with me.  This boy was a lovely dark chocolate and I was thrilled to have an "AKC" Labrador Retriever.  We named him Mack.

I began my search to find out how to get involved in events and things I could do with my boy.  I joined my local breed club.  This is where my real learning experience began.

My boy came from two AKC registered parents, but there was no record of any health clearances done on these parents.  I began taking conformation handling classes with my boy.  My instructor watched him move.  He said that based on his movement, he didn't think he would pass his hip x-ray.  When he was 2 years old, I did have his x-rays done.  My instructor was correct.  He did not pass.  Mack and I did other activities and he was a wonderful family pet.

When Mack was about 6 months old, I noticed that he had scratched a bald spot on his side.  This began years and years of trying everything to treat his horrible allergies!  Mack lived to be 13, but I can't say he was ever really healthy.  It was sad and frustrating.

When my children were grown, I decided that I had time again for showing and hopefully breeding Labrador Retrievers.  This time, I was armed with much information.  I met a woman who, after receiving references from my local club members, agreed to sell me a lovely black female puppy.  I will be forever grateful to her for this.  She not only did this, but she mentored me for years after.

I was always growing and learning, and still am!!!  My lovely girl, Skye, is an American and Canadian champion!  She also has a Canine Good Citizen title and a Rally Novice title. After having health tested her, I bred my first litter!  I do not have words to explain what an amazing experience this was!

I never tire of learning more and striving to constantly be better at what I do...and that is to breed the lovely, sweet, Labrador Retriever for health and temperament while retaining conformation to the breed standard.
